It's our great pleasure to introduce HAGOP AKISKAL, MD one of the plenary speakers at the Tenth Armenian World Congress (AMWC09), July 1-4, 2009. Dr. Akiskal is a psychiatrist who has received numerous professional and humanitarian awards, and is recognized around the globe for his important work on bipolar disorder.
The author of more than 20 books and 500 scientific articles, Dr. Akiskal is Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the International Mood Center at the University of California at San Diego, where he is also on the faculty of International Health and Cross-Cultural Medicine.
On May 3, Dr. Akiskal will receive a Lifetime Achievment Award from the Armenian American Medical Society of California.
Truly one of the best and the brightest in his field, Dr. Akiskal is just one of the world leaders and renowned experts who will come to New York to AMWC09 to share his knowledge, interact with a broad array of health professionals, and form lasting collegial relationships with Congress-goers from 10 nations and 5 continents.
